Ciel Rouge

We shot these in the Marigny which is my new favorite part of town. I feel like this place is filled with so many stories and secrets. Its the kind of place where you want to feel like a local but it will make you work for it. You will get a few stares when you walk down the street with your camera hanging on your neck and asking the kind of questions that will reward you the “how long have you lived in New Orleans?” line. Its okay. I don’t mind. I like the process. I want to earn the right to belong.

Working with Ciel made me recall my days of directing –  feeling part of a story bigger then me. I was lucky. We understood each other and being trusted and trusting the process, the shots felt effortless.

  • Nicole - love these…ReplyCancel

  • Katalin - I love these photos. Fascinating portrait of a young man and also a portrait of this special part of New Orleans. The two do belong somehow…through the colours, through the light, through the expressions on their faces.ReplyCancel
